Sony gets a new patent, as discovered by Shaun Mcilroy. This PlayStation patent suggested that the PS5 could provide backward compatibility for older consoles. The patent has been filed by Mark Cerny for both PS4 and PlayStation 5.
The patent detailed backward compatibility for the new console as we looked, through the use of fake clocks and frequency control. At this point, the patent suggested that PlayStation wanted to expand the backward compatibility capabilities of its new console to older consoles beyond the PS4.

One of the biggest criticisms leveled at PlayStation 5 was that backward compatibility doesn’t make sense. Maybe this move makes the PS5 even better than it is. At this point, it could be a big step in the right direction for the company.

The PlayStation fan base was somewhat pleased when Sony confirmed that the PS5 will have some backward compatibility. Still, the community was also disappointed when it learned that backward compatibility won’t make it past PS4.
Xbox brought every game ever to Xbox Series X
The Xbox side has made it possible to play every Xbox game ever made on the new Xbox Series X. He was quite generous at this point. This new patent at least provides an enhancement to the backward compatibility side of PlayStation.
Players from the PlayStation 3 generation had to rely on cloud gaming services like PlayStation Now to play games. However, the service is inactive in many parts of the world, including India, where a large portion of its player base is preventing them from playing older games.
