With today’s issue of the Official Gazette, some changes were made in the Parking Lot Regulation. With these changes, new rules were introduced for both buildings and businesses. As a matter of fact, the regulations made mean that the car parks are stretched.

According to previous regulations, if parking could not be provided on a parcel of a building, a parking lot within a radius of 1 kilometer had to be allocated. With today’s change, this distance has been increased to 1.5 meters by bird flight and to 2 kilometers by walking distance. With this decision, the areas to be allocated parking lots were expanded.

The construction period of the regional parking lot increased from 3 to 5 years

Before today’s arrangement, a parking lot had to be built in the area where the construction is located within 3 years. At this point, a stretch was made and this period was increased to 5 years. However, the parking limit for shops and stores, which was 40 square meters, was increased to 50 square meters. In other words, the number of parking lots to be established for shops and stores has been reduced on a square meter basis.

With the regulation in the Official Gazette, conveniences were also brought for municipalities. Municipalities that undertake the construction of regional parking lots will now be able to make 75 percent of their payments to the state in 36 months instead of 18 months.
