US-based technology giant Apple has announced that it has brought a big innovation for the “Podcasts” service, which has been available for years but has become very popular recently. According to the statements made by the company, channels that produce podcasts will now be able to earn money with the paid subscription method through Apple Podcasts.

Apple Podcasts’ new service allows creators to create paid subscription packages. Users who wish can also subscribe to these special packages with determined fees. According to Apple, there will be special broadcasts in paid subscription packages and users will have the opportunity to access all broadcasts on the channel without ads. However, Apple will also take its own commission on this service. According to the statements made, 30 percent of the subscription fee determined will be transferred directly to Apple’s vault.

Apple Podcasts Isn’t the Only Innovation, Paid Subscription Packages

In addition to the paid subscription packages of podcast producers, Apple also introduced a new feature called “Channel”. This feature will allow podcasters to have customized channels just like YouTube. In this way, the prepared publications can be grouped under certain categories, and users will be able to access these contents much more easily. This feature, which is offered free of charge to content producers, can be experienced by all users whether they are included in the paid subscription system or not.

By the way, Apple’s work on the Podcasts app is not limited to these. So much so that the application, which was largely renewed in iOS 14.5, became the victim of criticism arrows from both content producers and users. Because users did not like the design of Apple Podcasts very much. Content producers, on the other hand, complain that the broadcasts reach users after hours. Making statements about this, Apple announced that new updates will be made in iOS 14.6 and iOS 14.7, and new features will be brought while the problems are fixed.
