When you do a search on the desktop version of Google, you now come across a feature that is described as ‘out of date’ in the internet world. Search results are in sequential pages instead of appearing on a single page. We make the transition between these pages manually, by clicking on the page number.
But today, it was announced that there will be a big change in search results. Google announced that the ‘infinite scroll’ feature that it offered in the mobile version will also be available in the desktop version.
Going through page by page for the continuation of the search results is a thing of the past:
With the new infinite scroll, you will no longer have to scroll through the results page by page when you do a search on Google. Search results, which normally occupy 6 pages, will now appear on a single page.
When you reach the end of these results, you will see the “More” option. When you click on this option, Google will list different search results within the same page.
The feature will be useful for users as well as creators:
The struggle to appear on the first page of Google will now partially end. By listing the results on a single page, many more websites can now be accessed. Of course, the only struggle now will be to get to the top.
