Some Pixel phone users are facing fast battery drain and overheating issue. The Google application is shown as the source of the problem on Pixel 6, Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro models.

Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 users say that without using the phone at all, the battery drops by 20% and overheats without doing anything. Another Pixel 6a user says that while it was getting 6 hours of screen time, it dropped to 3 hours. However, the problem is not limited to the Pixel 6 series. Pixel 7 and 7 Pro users are reporting similar overkill and battery drain issue.

Factory reset doesn’t work!

It’s clear that this issue arose after the Google app’s recent update. Because on the battery usage screen, it is clearly seen that the Google application consumes the battery the most. Reverting to an older version of the Google app and factory resetting the phone also doesn’t fix the problem. The Google support team is also said to be unable to resolve the issue. There is no official statement from Google yet.
