Oppo unveils 240W fast charging

Energy values ​​in fast charging technologies have almost gone. After the 200W fast charging technology of the Realme brand, its older brother Oppo also raised the bar and showed the demo of the 240W fast charging technology.

Oppo’s technology developed as SuperVOOC has received 1786 patents so far and 1604 of them are at the application stage. The heavily invested technology has announced two versions this week, 150W ready to use and 240W demo phase.

Ready to use 150W The SuperVOOC system charges the 4500mAh battery in just 15 minutes when the device is in standby mode. The 50% level is exceeded in 5 minutes. The adapter of the system offers a more efficient but dense structure with GaN technology. It’s pretty loud at 1.51W per square centimeter.

For this technology, the phone uses dual batteries. The technology with 20V output at 7.5A is also controlled by a special chip. Battery Health Engine monitors negative diodes on this chip, minimizing the formation of dead lithium. Thus, there is only 20 percent capacity loss after 1600 cycles.

Solid Electrolyte Interface (SEI) interface prevents deterioration by applying a durable film on the electrode. A special formula repairs this interface, allowing it to work efficiently.

SuperVOOC will also expand to 200W and 240W limits. Thus, the 4500mAh battery will be charged in just 9 minutes. The 50% level will be reached in 3.5 minutes. These versions are in the testing phase and are expected to be on flagships by the end of the year.
