Today, the famous technology analyst Ice Universe claimed that OPPO is working on a completely independent processor and that the first phones using this processor will be released in 2024.
Can Apple rival Silicon?
Known especially for its consistent analysis of Chinese phone brands, Ice Universe claimed in a statement on its Twitter account that OPPO has developed a completely independent processor with a similar architecture in addition to Marisilicon X and Y chips. Allegedly, this processor will not use the infrastructure of any processor manufacturer and will be completely out of the hands of OPPO engineers.
It is thought that the company, which already has thousands of engineers and constantly recruits new engineers to the “Chip Development” department, will introduce this processor towards the end of 2023 and launch its first phones with its own processor in 2024. In addition, many names in the smartphone industry confirm these claims. Previously, brands such as Samsung and Huawei also wanted to develop their own chips, but ultimately unsuccessfully had their own designs produced under license to manufacturers such as TSMC.
However, according to the allegations, OPPO will produce its own chip completely independently and will rival Apple with this success. Many names in the industry, on the other hand, view this initiative of the Chinese technology giant very positively.
