Technology giant Oppo continues its innovations in the field of electronics. The concept of the metaverse, which has become especially popular, pushes companies to different searches. The company comes up with an important product in this field. Taking an important step in Augmented Reality (AR) devices, the company introduced Oppo Air Glass with its self-developed Spark Micro Projector at INNO DAY 2021. The product will go on sale early next year.

Oppo Air Glass has a single glass waveguide design

A big step came from Oppo for Augmented Reality (AR), which has become an important issue on the agenda of many companies, especially after the concept of metaverse. The company has announced its AR device Air Glass, which will go on sale early next year. However, the company defines the product as Assisted Reality instead of AR concept. So much so that the glasses provide information flow in 2D, not 3D. In this respect, Google’s product is similar to Google Glass.

Oppo Air Glass features

Oppo Air Glass is designed as an additional glass frame that magnetically fits on the right side of the frame. The glasses will weigh 30 grams with a light and minimalist appearance. There are two different frame designs, silver half frame and black full frame. It also has a magnetic attachment point that can be mounted on standard glasses.

Oppo says the glasses can stay active for 3 hours and standby for 40 hours. Air Glass has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4100 processor. The device can connect with a smartphone running Oppo’s ColorOS 11 or higher. Supporting four intuitive interaction methods: touch, voice, hand and head movements, Oppo Air Glass offers a peak brightness of 1,400 nits with a resolution of 640×480 pixels.
