Yes, our topic today will be wireless in-ear headphones. Right now, when we want to buy any wireless headphones, we are faced with a lot of options in the market. Wired in-ear headphones were very popular at one time, and then the wires were cut; These tiny wireless earbuds, which replaced them, have expanded their range incredibly especially in the last 1-2 years, and the bar has been raised a little higher with each new model.

When this is the case, of course, people get confused; which one should buy, which one has better sound performance, which one is more comfortable and of course at the end of the day we come to this: Which one will fit my budget and give me good sound performance? Today we are here with a model that answers exactly this question. OPPO has just launched the Enco Free2 model and perhaps we are evaluating this device for the first time in our country in this video.

OPPO launched the first version of this model in India about a year ago. Then, of course, when the model took off, the 2nd version came and this time it went on sale globally. The Enco Free2 is a wireless earphone set with silicone caps, designed in an in-ear structure. In this respect, OPPO, which targets those who do not find open-design headphones suitable for themselves, is somewhat similar to the OPPO Enco Buds, which we have reviewed recently, with a silicone cap. That model consisted entirely of in-ear buds, while the Free2 has a sleeve design, but has silicone caps. In fact, from this side, we can say that it is more like OPPO’s Enco X model. In terms of features, it differs from both models at some points and offers more than the Enco Buds model.

For example, the first of these is the increase in the size of the driver used in the headphones. While the 10mm dynamic driver is used in the Enco Free2, cooperation with Dynaudio continues in this headset. Developed by making use of the experiences of the legendary Danish Hi-Fi company Dynaudio, which was founded in 1977, Enco Free2 also has a noise canceling feature.

The active noise canceling technology in the device is provided by the 3-core chip and can block ambient noise up to 42 dB. The 42 dB mentioned here is the maximum depth of noise cancellation after personalized active noise cancellation, adjusted based on real-life testing. Well what does it mean? In other words, in this headset, the noise canceling feature can reach a depth of up to 42 db in total, and you can customize this feature according to you and as a result, you can create a noise canceling profile that is tailored for you. So how will you do this?

The solution is simple. You connect the Enco Free2 to your phone via the HeyMelody app. After an easy pairing, when you enter the settings of the application, it is enough to activate the “personalized noise canceling” feature here, with both earphones in your ears. Thus, the application performs a short test by listening to the surround sounds and then customizes the ANC for you. By performing this test in different noise environments, you can get better noise canceling performance.

While we’re in the app, let’s talk about another nice sound-based feature here. If you buy this headset, be sure to do it. The result really makes a huge difference. You will also see the “headphone compatibility test” on the settings screen. When you start this test while the headphones are in your ears, the headphones will play some sounds for you. By marking on the screen which of these you hear and which you do not, you can create a sound profile that is completely specific to you. Another detail we liked was that there was a stage after the test that showed you the difference in sound before and after the test. So you can really see the difference here.

The work does not end there; It also has equalizer options. Of course, you may want to see an option that can be adjusted completely manually in the headset, which has 4 different equalizer options: classic, dynamic bass, clear sounds and clear. But with the test we just mentioned, the headset already does this for you, and with these 4 options, it gives the option to support the sound pattern prepared for you. It’s quite enough for us.

The Enco Free2 takes advantage of Bluetooth 5.2 low-latency next-generation wireless connectivity. AAC, SBS Bluetooth codecs are included in the headset, the sound performance is very clean, the bass is understandable. In high-pitched music, you should reasonably pull the volume down by 1-2 clicks. Of course, OPPO’s flagship headphones in this field are Enco X and LDHC, ie Low Latency High-Definition Audio Codec, driver size, and Free2 in this sense. The Enco Free2, on the other hand, is below it in terms of features, but in terms of performance it follows a close line. In that sense, it is not difficult to say that it is a price/performance product at the top.

Meanwhile, the Enco Free2’s buds include touch controls. Nothing is overlooked at this point. You can switch between songs by tapping on them, activate Google Assistant, control the volume by swiping your finger, and switch between noise modes by holding down. In addition, when you remove the headphones from your ears, the sound can be transferred to the phone automatically. The same goes for a phone call. It can automatically return to the phone by starting the call from the earpiece and removing the earphones. In the meantime, let’s say that we like the phone call quality a lot. There are 3 microphones on the headphones. The 3-microphone uses a proprietary algorithm for noise canceling and wind noise reduction, and it works.

The battery capacity of the Enco Free2 is 41 mAh per earphone and 480 mAh in the charging case. This gives you up to 30 hours of battery life in total. Of course, this time will vary depending on your usage scenario. You can use the headphones for up to 4 hours when the noise canceling feature is on, and up to 6.5 hours when this feature is turned off.

So what about the price? Currently, you can find Enco Free2 in the market for 899 TL.
