Opera aims to offer a different experience on the web. According to a recent post by the company, emoji-based web addresses are coming. This means strings of emojis in the URL bar for users to navigate to a website. In its new breakthrough, Opera has become the first browser to allow users to create custom URLs with a set of emojis instead of letters and words.
To go to the web page with Emoji
The new experience, developed as part of the project developed in partnership with Yat, a company that sells emoji-based URLs, is a combination of Opera’s Windows, Mac, Android and iOS browsers along with Opera Crypto Integrated into Browser Project.
Opera says it offers a different, easier and more fun approach to the system that has remained unchanged for more than 30 years in creating URLs with emoji-based web addresses.
In the Opora post: “The truth is that over 90% of the world’s 4.6 billion internet users express themselves with emojis, and the integration of Opera provides a new and easy way for anyone to leave a mark on the web. Integration is as much about functionality as it is expression. Instead of entering lots of alphanumeric characters in a URL, you can use emojis.” statements are included.
Yacht’s The co-founder states that he believes emoji strings will allow people to personalize their online identities and make it easier for popular people to connect and share content with their communities.
