The Commission requested OpenAI because of its concerns over privacy and personal data. In this request, it was stated that OpenAI should not collect personal data without user consent and that the collection of sensitive data should be minimized.
In addition, the Commission underlined that it will take a different approach if possible additional concerns arise. Continuing its artificial intelligence developments with machine learning, OpenAI has to be more careful in its approach to sensitive data in Japan.
