OpenAI launched the new O3-Mini model that can reason for Chatgpt and the company’s API services. The O3-Mini model is offered to free users, even though it has certain restrictions.

Gives better and faster answers

OpenAI’s 12-day “Ship-MAS” activities announced last December that O1, O1’s performance in mathematics, coding and science in the field of science, while showing much faster response from the current model. According to the tests, O3-Mini responds 24 %faster than O1-Mini.

In December, OpenAI has published some comparison results showing that the O3 has performed better than O1. The company says that the O3-Mini version performs better than O1 in a series of coding and reasoning with less cost and delay. Developers will be able to benefit from O3-Mini through OpenAI’s API services, including Chat Completiions API, Assistants API and BATCH API.

For paid users, a higher level model called O3-Mini-High is available. OpenAI says that this model can give the highest accuracy in complex coding tasks, but the response time is longer. The reason for this is that it has more detailed and in -depth analysis capabilities.

For the first time with O3-Mini, free chatgpt users will have the opportunity to use an artificial intelligence model with reasoning capability. However, a specific message limit, such as the GPT-4O model, will be applied in the free version. For Chatgpt Plus and Team users, the limit will be three times more (150 messages per day). Pro users will obtain unlimited access to O3-Mini.
