OpenAI announced the new Deep Research, which uses reasoning capabilities of the O3 to synthesize large amounts of web information. According to the announcement, ChatGPT users will be able to use Deep Research to complete multi -step research tasks.
Chatgpt Pro Plan users can access this feature with 100 queries per month. The new feature is available to Chatgpt Plus and Team users in the near future, while free chatgpt free level users will be able to access it later.
Research analysts often spend a long time to find, analyze and synthesize hundreds of online sources to create a research report. Chatgpt Deep Research can do the same in just a few minutes. This new feature is trained on real world tasks that require the use of browser and Python tools.
Deep Research’s latest report will clearly indicate quotes and includes a summary of the reasoning path. OpenAI claims that this feature will be really effective in finding niche, non -intuitive information that will require a look at several websites.
In order to use this new Deep Research feature, Chatgpt users will need to go to the Chatgpt web experience first. Deep Research will also be available in mobile and desktop chatgpt applications in the coming days. Then, after submitting your query to Chatgpt, they will be able to add files or electronic tables to add context to these questions by selecting the “Deep Research” option in the message creation.
When it starts to work, it will appear an edge bar that contains the summary of the steps taken and the resources used. Deep Research’s working time can range from 5 minutes to 30 minutes depending on the query. When the report is ready, a notification will be sent to the user.
Currently, the report is only presented as a text report in the conversation. However, Chatgpt will add images, data visualizations and other analytical outputs embedded in these reports for additional clarity and context in the next few weeks. In addition, the ability of users to connect to more specific data sources and make their outputs even more accurate and personalized will be added in the future.
