The OneUI 5.1 update is 1.9 GB in size and includes the February 2023 Security Update. What does OneUI 5.1 version offer?

Camera and Gallery

  • An Effect button has been added to the top of the screen so you can quickly change the color tone of selfies.
  • You can search for multiple people and titles in your gallery at the same time. On the other hand, you can also search by touching the faces of the people in the photo.
  • You can make images look better by removing shadows and reflections with the re-editing tool. You can also increase the resolution and quality of GIFs with this tool.
  • The gallery will recognize your family members’ faces and suggest pictures to add to your family album. 5 GB of storage is provided for each family member (up to 6 people). You get up to 30GB of space. You can also share this album with other people.
  • When viewing a picture or video in your gallery, swipe up to see when and where the picture was taken, from which device, where the picture is stored, and more details.

Multitasking

  • You can now shrink or maximize an app without going into the options menu. To do this, drag by holding the corner of the window.
  • When you switch to the split screen view, the apps you use most often are shown in the top row.

Wallpapers

  • You can set a different wallpaper based on your current activity. For example, you can choose a different wallpaper for work or exercise.
  • The new actions tool allows you to control the quick share and touch sensitivity, change the ringtone and easily change it to your font style.

Weather

  • Useful information in the weather app has been added to the homepage. Also added hourly precipitation graph.
  • Added new weather widget.

Connection

  • You can now share notes in the Samsung Notes app with multiple people. These people can update the grade simultaneously.
  • You can easily invite other people to albums, notes, and calendars by sharing links via social media or messaging apps like email.
  • You can now also control your Galaxy Book mouse, keyboard and trackpad from your Galaxy smartphone. You can also easily copy and paste text and view an image from your other device.
  • You can select media output via the Quick Access Toolbar to listen to songs on Wi-Fi speakers via Spotify Connect and the built-in Chromecast. Previously, you had to log into the music app for this.
  • While using Samsung Internet, you can view the websites you have logged into on mobile from your PC and continue to browse.

Samsung DeX

  • In split screen mode, you can now drag the divider to the center of the screen to resize both windows. You can also snap a window to one of its corners so that it takes up a quarter of the screen.

Settings

  • Useful features to try or settings you might like are now displayed at the top of the Settings app.

Samsung Internet

  • You can search for groups of folders and tabs in bookmarks by name.

Setup Wizard

  • If you are switching from an Android phone to a Galaxy device, you can easily migrate your data by scanning the QR code from your old phone.
