Screen unaffected by torrential rain
The company also demonstrated the feature, which it calls Rain Water Touch, in practice. The video shows the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro and the Apple iPhone 14 Pro side by side. We see someone trying to unlock the screen while the devices are sprayed with rain and water. In the rain scenario, Apple’s phone shows the password screen after a few erroneous taps, while OnePlus’ phone successfully bypasses the screen lock on first login. In the water spray scenario, the OnePlus phone answers the call in one go, while the iPhone 14 Pro can pass the call answer screen after a few tries. Finally, the iPhone 14 Pro is also having trouble viewing photos in the gallery.
OnePlus seems to have fixed one of the most annoying issues with touchscreens today. OnePlus will introduce its new phone in China next week. The phone is also expected to be available in the global market under another name.
