OnePlus’ new cooling system: Active CryoFlux
At the core of OnePlus’ cooling system is a ceramic piezoelectric micropump that circulates liquid between the upper and lower diaphragms through a series of pipes. The footprint of the micro pump on the phone is less than 0.2 cm2. The pump circulates fluid that takes heat from the processor and slowly delivers it to the pump as it moves around the tube that acts as a heatsink and radiator.
OnePlus says its cooling solutions can reduce the temperature to 2.1 degrees in use and 1.6 degrees during charging. The rest of the features are mostly cosmetic. The one-piece back cover comes curved and uses a clear glass. The back cover allows you to see the partially illuminated bottom tube. The area around the camera has also been illuminated and a new pattern can be seen in the camera.
As you may remember, OnePlus showed a hidden camera cover called Concept One at CES 2020, but this device did not reach the end user. However, we hope that the new liquid cooling solution, currently included in a concept phone, is on future OnePlus phones.
