While the new operating system Android 13, introduced by Google in May, is expected to be released in September, an important news came from Samsung today. While the last beta version of Android 13 was live, Samsung started the open beta process of the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 interface. The new interface has started rolling out for Galaxy S22 users in various countries.

One UI 5.0, which was launched a few weeks before the release of Android 13, includes many features that we will see in the full version in its open beta. Features that come with the new version include customization options and new accessibility and security settings.

What’s new with the One UI 5.0 open beta:

The first feature that stood out in the open beta of the new One UI 5.0, which started to be released for Galaxy S22 models, was the theme options that offer color schemes compatible with your wallpaper. Users will have access to 16 color schemes that are compatible with the wallpapers. In addition, there will be 12 extra color options on the home page, icons and quick access panel.

One UI 5.0 will also allow merging of widgets that take up separate space on the home page. Widgets can be combined into a single panel, just as applications are put in a folder. Both widgets will be accessed through a single panel.

When we look at the security side, the main feature that comes to the fore is that you will be asked for permission for notifications from applications. You will be able to choose whether or not to receive notifications from an application you have installed on your phone.

Apart from these, the One UI 5.0 open beta will now allow you to choose the preferred language on a per-application basis rather than system-wide.
