Telegram users will be able to share photos or videos that disappear after a certain period of time, as on other platforms. However, Telegram will allow users to choose the story length, unlike its competitors. After 6, 12, 24 or 48 hours the story will disappear. At this point, it should be noted that the stories disappear after 24 hours in most applications.

For comparison, Instagram stories can be shared publicly or with close friends. Telegram will allow users to create different contact lists for each story. This means users can only share a story with their coworkers or best friends. Shared stories can be viewed from the top of the chat list.

Telegram boss Durov said, “We were initially against it because stories are everywhere. But Telegram wouldn’t be Telegram if we didn’t listen to our users and innovate on existing formats.”
