Onda has announced its new motherboard that will support both DDR4 and DDR5 memory.

Bringing DDR5 memory support with

12th generation Alder Lake processors, Intel continues to support DDR4 for users who do not want to switch to new technology. According to information shared by Momomo_us, Chinese motherboard manufacturer Onda will launch a new motherboard that will allow users to use both technologies.

Will only support one memory type

The company’s new H610M+ motherboard, which will work with both DDR4 and DDR5 memory, will support DDR4-3200 and DDR5-4800 memory modules up to a maximum capacity of 32GB. However, the new motherboard, which is expected to have a total of 2 memory inputs, will be offered to users with a single-channel memory structure compared to dual-channel memory, and will likely support only one memory type at a time.

Among other shared specifications, the new motherboard features a single PCIe 5.0 x16 and PCIe x1 slot slots, and comes with one M.2 slot for SSDs and WiFi adapters. Although Onda remains silent about information such as how the model works with different memory slots or its price, we can say that there is a very low performance difference between DDR5 and DDR4 memory today.
