What happens when a tweet that has been embedded in a site is deleted on Twitter? Until recently, deleted text appeared as unformatted text. Twitter has tackled this issue and changed how deleted tweets appear on websites.
Since March, a tweet thread containing deleted tweets appears on websites as empty boxes, as in the screenshot above. in other words, it is no longer possible to read deleted tweets.
Twitter product manager Eleanor Harding states that this change was made to “respect the choices of people who delete their tweets.” But this also affects tweets that have been removed for other reasons, such as the suspension of the account that posted them.
