The legendary Lada Niva, which has challenged change for 45 years, continues to exist as an accessible offroad vehicle in other markets, although not so much for us. Moreover, for those who want a more capable Niva, a factory Niva Bronto version is also offered.
A German company named Zubr rolled up its sleeves to make Lada Niva ready for tough offroad conditions and created the vehicle called ‘Lada Niva Monster’. The model listed on eBay is priced at 44 thousand euros. Many visual and mechanical changes have been made in Niva Monster, but it is still possible to say that this is a high amount.
Starting with the visible parts of the change, the 16-inch wheels and the large Hankook Dynapro tires surrounding them are the first details that stand out. There is also a full-size spare wheel on the trunk lid. The plastic pads have been enlarged to accommodate the tires. In addition, the front and rear bumpers are specially designed to improve the approach and departure angles.
Lada Niva Monster uses a paint that is more resistant to scratches and rust. The louver, which also includes the round headlights, has been changed. The shape of the headlights remains intact but has been updated with LED units for better visibility. Niva Monster, which also has extra ventilation on the engine hood and C-pillars, also has features such as a winch, snorkel, dual exhaust outlets and side steps.
The ground clearance of the model in question was announced as 235 mm. In this area, there is an increase of 150 mm compared to the standard Niva. For this, chassis modifications such as a suspension system resistant to difficult offroad conditions have been made. Additional protection plates have been added to the lower section to protect the mechanical components.
The unchanged part is the Niva’s 1.7-liter engine producing 83 horsepower and 129 Nm of torque. It seems that the company has not found a way to get extra power from this engine. The engine in question works in combination with a 5-speed manual transmission and permanent all-wheel drive system, as always.
