Introducing the RTX 4090, RTX 4080 and DLSS 3.0 technology at the GeForce Beyond event held recently, Nvidia also announced the RTX Remix platform that will add a new dimension to classic games. Essentially a modding tool, RTX Remix brings ray tracing features to DirectX 8 and 9 games.

Ray Tracing and DLSS good news for classic games!

As it is known, old productions that shape the game world such as Doom 3 and Half-Life do not meet the data and components that ray tracing needs today. However, the RTX Remix, introduced as part of Nvidia Omniverse, will allow for the enhancement of details in game scenes and the addition of RTX technologies such as Ray Tracing and DLSS 3.0.

According to Nvidia’s statements, RTX Remix will be able to quickly collect information about textures, geometry, lighting and cameras by analyzing the details in the scene with the help of artificial intelligence. This data will then be translated into the universal USD (Universal Scene Description) format used by the NVIDIA Omniverse platform and easily exported to 3D modeling tools.

RTX Remix will thus speed up demanding tasks such as automatically scaling and smoothing textures and rendering higher resolution materials with just one click. In addition, Nvidia says that these created materials will be compatible with software such as Adobe Substance 3D Painter, Autodesk Maya, 3DS Max, Blender, SideFX.
