A new one has been added to the rumors about the RTX 4000 series recently. While it is reported that the new Ada Lovelace architecture cards are going through the final development phase, the clock speeds of the mid-top model solution of the series, the GeForce RTX 4070, have been leaked.

Core counts and speeds soaring

Reliable leaker Kopite7kimi, who shared a new post on Twitter, reported that the RTX 4070, which is expected to come with 7680 CUDA cores and 21 Gbps 12 GB GDDR6X memory configuration, will have a base clock of 2310 MHz, an increase of 2610 MHz, and a maximum clock speed of 2800 MHz. Thus, we can say that the new card will offer 700 to 900 MHz higher clock speeds than its predecessor.

With the shared details, the RTX 4070 is expected to reach a processing power of 40 TFLOPS. We can say that this figure indicates a performance similar to the RTX 3090 Ti and twice as high as the RTX 3070.

Long story short, it looks like we’ll be seeing more cores and a big clock speed update on the RTX 40 series cards. While all high-end cards will be announced by Nvidia at the same time, the RTX 4070 is expected to launch in the middle of the fourth quarter, after the RTX 4090 and RTX 4080.
