After the first announcement of the RTX 4000 series, the performance of the other products of the series as well as the launch of the RTX 4080 as two models were discussed. After that, the company renamed the lower version of the RTX 4080 as RTX 4070Ti. Just when there were questions about the RTX 4070 in mind, some leaks about the card came. Here is the RTX 4070 and its technical specifications!
Nvidia’s new card is the RTX 4070!
According to the strategy that Nvidia normally follows, the Ti model comes after the normal of a card is released. This added model is a more performance version of the card. After the RTX 4080 12GB event this year, the company announced the Ti version of the card without announcing the RTX 4070. This brings up the question of whether there has been a change in the development process of the RTX 4070. This question is not entirely empty. Apparently, Nvidia planned to follow a different strategy while making this positioning at the beginning.
When we look at the RTX 4070 leaks, we see that there are serious differences with its older brother, the RTX 4070Ti. For example, the RTX 4070Ti has 7,680 CUDA cores, while the new card has only 5,888.
On paper, the number of CUDA cores on the RTX 4070 is very close to the number on the previous generation RTX 3070. It is worth remembering that the number of CUDA cores is not the only thing that determines the performance of a graphics card. In addition to this value, there are many details such as architectural improvements, clock speeds and artificial intelligence performance.
According to the leak of the whistleblower named kopite7kimi on Twitter, contrary to the information we have previously obtained, the RTX 4070 will have 12GB VRAM, not 10GB VRAM. These 21Gbps memory will be in GDDR6X format just like other RTX 4000 series cards. It also has a 192-bit bus and 36MB of L2 cache. The average power consumption for the RTX 4070 is estimated to be 250W.
Finally, Nvidia is expected to price the new graphics card with the RTX 3070 of the last generation. According to estimates, the card will be available in the markets in March 2023.
So what do you think about the RTX 4070? What do you think the pricing will be like? Don’t forget to share your ideas with us in the comments section!
