Nvidia has officially unveiled its GeForce RTX 40 laptop lineup. Bringing desktop performance to laptops, the new graphics card series includes RTX 4090, RTX 4080, RTX 4070, RTX 4060 and RTX 4050, while significant improvements have been achieved in performance and efficiency.
Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 40 laptop cards will come in five variants in total. Thus, Nvidia will bring a different solution for each segment to consumers. On the other hand, let’s underline that there is a significant increase in performance and efficiency in each model compared to the previous generation. However, we need to point out that although the RTX 40 mobile graphics cards have the same name as the desktop models, they are not the same in terms of technical features.
GeForce RTX 4090 16GB laptop GPU
The new flagship of the laptop, the RTX 4090 mobile graphics card, comes with 16 GB of memory. Technically speaking, Nvidia brings the same configuration of the laptops RTX 4090 as the desktop RTX 4080. Therefore, we see the AD103 graphics core with 9728 CUDA cores on this card. While this GPU demands a maximum TGP of 150W, it is clocked at 1590 MHz base and 2040 MHz boost.
GeForce RTX 4080 12GB laptop GPU
Next up is the RTX 4080 mobile with a total of 7424 CUDA cores, a 192-bit memory bus and 12GB of GDDR6 memory. This card features a truncated AD104 GPU used in the desktop RTX 4070 Ti. The card, which has a maximum TGP of 150W, will operate at 1860 MHz base and 2280 MHz boost clock speeds.
The high-end RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 laptops will hit the market on February 8. Nvidia announced at the event that the Alienware x16 gaming laptop will go on sale with a price tag of $ 1999 and will offer 3 times more performance in 4K resolution compared to the previous generation.
GeForce RTX 4070 and 4060 laptop GPUs
GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 mobile graphics cards will both have 8GB of GDDR6 memory. Both GPUs still have a maximum TGP of 115W. The GeForce RTX 4070 comes with 4608 CUDA cores, 8GB of memory, boss clocks up to 2175MHz and a 128-bit bus while the RTX 4060 comes with 3072 CUDA cores, 8GB of memory, boost clocks up to 2370MHz and 128-bit It will come via data bus. The Asus ZenBook Pro 14 laptop with these graphics cards will be released on February 22 with a price tag of $ 999.
GeForce RTX 4050 laptop GPU
Finally, the GeForce RTX 4050 laptop graphics card will come with 115W TGP and 6 GB GDDR6 memory, just like its brothers. Offering a maximum clock speed of 2370 MHz, the card will have a 96-bit bus.
DLSS 3 has arrived on your laptop
GeForce RTX 4070, RTX 4060, and RTX 4050 laptops will be available from February 22 with prices starting at $999. 2 weeks before this date, on February 8, laptops with RTX 4090 and RTX 4080 will enter the market at a price of 1999 dollars. All RTX 40 series laptop graphics cards will come with the latest features such as DLSS 3 and enhanced ray tracing performance. The arrival of DLSS 3 on the laptop can make a significant contribution to acting in entry and mid-level models. As you know, DLSS 3 promises a performance increase of up to 30 percent depending on the game.
