Nvidia RTX 3060 12GB refresh
According to information from the TechPowerUP database, Nvidia is preparing an interesting update for the RTX 3060. Moreover, this new version will be powered by the GA104 GPU instead of the GA106 that we encounter in the main models. For those who don’t know, the GA104 chip powers the RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti models today.
The specific details of the card have not been shared yet, but the biggest news here will be its update with GDDR6X memory. As a matter of fact, Nvidia recently made a similar upgrade to the RTX 3060 Ti model. Accordingly, we can say that the memory bandwidth of the new RTX 3060 will increase by around 30 percent.
Also, the new development shows that Nvidia will now have four RTX 3060 models, including in the new version. These will be RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6 (GA106-300), RTX 3060 12GB (GDDR6 LHR – GA106-302), RTX 3060 8GB (GDDR6 – GA106-302) and RTX 3060 (12GB GDDR6X – GA104) versions, respectively.
It should also be noted that the new leak has not been confirmed yet. Although such models with hybrid processors are common in Nvidia series, we see that these cards are generally offered for sale in the Chinese market.
