Broadcom, Nvidia and AMD show interest
Intel’s order from Nvidia, one of the largest factory chip designers, will undoubtedly be a big gain for Intel Foundry and perhaps a turning point. However, Arcuri claims that Nvidia is closer to adopting Intel as a second or third supplier compared to Broadcom. AMD is also interested in this production process, but the progress of this node is uncertain.
18A-P process on the road
In addition to 18A, Intel prepares the performance of the same power, or the performance of the same performance, which promises to reduce power tustering at the same performance. Analyst says that this production process will appeal more to external customers who want to maximize their performances while minimizing power consumption.
The first generation 18A production technology will appear with the Xeon 7 “Clearwater Forest” processors for new generation Panther Lake (Core Ultra 300) processors and data centers. The more optimized and performance-enhanced 18A-P may attract more attention of external mishters, just as in the 3nm process of TSMC.
Intel’s new CEO Lip-Bu Tan will focus on chip design and documentary capabilities just like former CEO Pat Gelsinger. Although Gelsinger took important steps in this direction, he failed to gather the company’s documentation business. However, reports show that the company has made significant progress in production business, which promises hope for the future.
