The release of new series of graphics cards, processors and new computer components every year can cause some points in the production process to be overlooked from time to time. While this situation can sometimes be fixed with a small update, sometimes it requires more challenging processes. With the newly announced RTX 4090, NVIDIA is tackling a cable burn/melt issue in the latter group.
A new statement from the NVIDIA front shows that the issue of melting cables will hold water for a longer time. The company, which published a support article, implicitly accused users of not plugging in the cables correctly.
Here is the explanation shared by NVIDIA
“We are actively reviewing the reports. We are aware of around 50 cases globally.
Our findings to date suggest that it is a common problem that connectors are not fully plugged into graphics cards. Make sure the power connector is firmly and evenly connected to the graphics card before placing the card on the motherboard to ensure the connection is secure.
We’re investigating additional ways to make sure the connection is secure before powering up the graphics card.
NVIDIA and our partners are committed to supporting our customers and providing an accelerated RMA process, regardless of cable or card used.”
What had happened before?
NVIDIA’s new graphics cards, RTX 4090s, were hit by the users after they were released, because the power cables of the graphics cards could cause problems such as burning and melting due to temperature. Finally, some users in the USA filed a fraud case against NVIDIA.
