Chipmaker Nvidia announced that it has added new effects to its live broadcast and video conferencing tool, Nvidia Broadcast, including Eye Contact. Thanks to the artificial intelligence-supported Eye Contact, eye tracking is performed and the eyes are arranged to face the camera.

In the blog post shared by Nvidia, the innovations that come with the 1.4 version of Nvidia Broadcast were mentioned. Undoubtedly, the most striking of these was Eye Contact. Thanks to the new feature, the gaze is predictably aligned and eye contact with the camera is not interrupted. It should be noted that even though the software is still in beta, it performs surprisingly consistently and naturally. But for now, it can do this with a relatively small angle.

This new artificial intelligence (AI) effect seems to be very useful for creators who want to record themselves reading their notes or script, or who want to avoid having to look directly at the camera. On the other hand, during a video conference, you may need to take your eyes off the screen and camera to look at some information again. Thanks to this feature, it will be ensured that your eyes do not lose contact with the camera even when you are looking at the information again.

In recent years, Nvidia has been closely interested in artificial intelligence-supported software and has made the solutions it offers a stepping stone for sales of graphics cards. DLSS on RTX cards and its latest version, DLSS 3, allow to increase the FPS in the game by creating completely new frames, just like Broadcast adds a new pair of eyes to your face. Finally, Broadcast also has other AI-powered features like background replacement that works as a virtual green screen, corner blackout effect, and the ability to clean up any background noise your microphone picks up.
