A production error in Nvidia’s new generation graphics cards caused confusion among users. RTX 5090, RTX 5090D and RTX 5070 Ti models have been identified with rendering unit. NVIDIA has announced that it will offer the possibility of changing the affected users. How does this error affect the user experience? Here are the details…
NVIDIA RTX 5090, 5090D and 5070 Ti graphics cards missing rendering unit
Nvidia, recently released RTX 5090, RTX 5090D and RTX 5070 Ti graphics cards announced that one of the features are missing. Berraondo, the company’s GeForce Global PR Director, said in a statement that this error affects only a portion of only 0.5 percent and that this deficiency led to a small decrease of 4 percent in graphic performance. However, this deficiency was experienced only in render units (ROP) and it was stated that it did not have any negative impact on artificial intelligence and calculation workloads.

This production error also affected Nvidia’s different graphics card manufacturers. Zotac, MSI, Gigabyte, Manli, as well as Nvidia’s own Founders Edition Cards faced this problem. Users can use the GPU-Z software to check whether their cards show the correct number of rendering units. For the missing units identified cards, users will be able to apply to manufacturer companies and request free change.
