If you’re a gamer who likes to equip every component with RGB lighting, from case fans on PCs, the RedMagic 7S Pro gaming phone, released internationally by Nubia, may be just for you.

Similar to last year’s RedMagic 6S Pro smartphone, some models have transparent back covers that let you see the built-in RGB equipped fans. Of course, these fans aren’t just for show and can spin up to 20,000 rpm to keep the phone’s internals cool as part of what Nubia calls a “ten-layer multidimensional cooling system.”

The phone will be the mid-year refresh of RedMagic 7, which was released in February. Like Asus’ ROG Phone series or Xiaomi’s Black Shark series, this phone stands out as being designed primarily for games, where other smartphone features like camera quality are more in the background.

The RedMagic 7S Pro’s internal hardware is just as gaming-focused as its flashy designs suggest. It features Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and 512GB of storage and RAM levels up to 18GB. Nubia says the phone’s cooling system runs quieter than before and has better airflow.

A pair of buttons on the side of the phone act as an extra button while gaming, and the dual haptic vibration engines that Nubia advertises are also optimized for gaming. The RedMagic 7S Pro also has a “custom gaming chip” called Red Core 1, which Nubia says is a secondary processor that handles sound, RGB lighting and haptic feedback. Since it is a gaming phone where low latency is extremely important, a 3.5 mm jack for wired headphones is also on the phone.

In terms of more traditional phone specs, the 7S Pro sports a 6.8-inch 120Hz 1080p OLED display with a 16-megapixel under-screen camera. The international model has a 5,000 mAh battery that can be charged up to 65 W. There is a triple camera on the back, a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide and a 2-megapixel macro.

The RedMagic 7S Pro was announced for the Chinese market earlier this month, but will soon go on sale in the US as well. Prices start at $729 for the Obsidian version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the price goes up to $899 for the Mercury and Supernova models with 18GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, as well as all these important RGB fans.

RedMagic 7S Pro will be available for open sale on Amazon and Nubia’s own website from August 9th.
