Google’s new health tracking system, which can track snoring and cough
Google Health Studies, announced a new digital health study. Various innovations are offered in version 2.0 of the system. Among these innovations is the “Sleep Audio Collection” feature, which allows your phone to listen to you while you sleep and identifies health problems. This feature is currently only available to Google employees.
Google states that the Health Sensing system was developed to provide users with some important information about their sleep. For this, the company includes an advanced detection capability and algorithm package on Android devices.
Thanks to the “Cough and Snoring Algorithms” in the system, it will be possible to determine what kind of problems the person encounters during his sleep. With this bedside monitoring feature, the system is expected to inform and guide the user.
The new system seems to be in the testing phase for now. After the testing phase, it is not yet known whether the snoring and cough detection feature will be available on all Android devices or if it will be exclusive to the Google Pixel. However, it seems likely that we will encounter this feature first on Pixel devices. The new snoring and cough detection feature will likely work with the Google Fit or Google Clock app.
