Nothing plans to release the new Nothing Chats app, compatible with iMessage, towards the end of this month. First, Nothing Phone 2 users will be able to message with iPhone users, and the application will be available in North America, the EU and other European countries.

Nothing Chats

The app is powered by Sunbird, an unofficial iMessage client that reached over 10,000 downloads on the Google Play Store last year. To use Nothing Chats with iMessage, users must sign in with their Apple ID. The app supports end-to-end encryption in accordance with its privacy policy.

Nothing Chats will work the same as iMessage. Individual and group chats will be possible, the other party will be able to see when the user writes a message, photos and videos can be shared (uncompressed) and voice notes can be sent. Read receipts, which is very important for some people, will also be visible. Messages can be responded to directly or with an emoji. It was also stated that the application supports RCS messaging.

Nothing Chats will be available on November 17th. Thus, Nothing became the first Android OEM to integrate iMessage into its device.
