Even though the phone giant Nokia lost market share with the smartphone revolution, it was always at the top when it came to phone cameras. The company, which produces quality devices using Zeiss optics in phones such as the N90, 808 PureView, Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020, has again agreed with the Zeiss brand under the name of HMD Global. It was announced that the partnership, which had been going on since 2017, ended in 2021.
New Nokia phones won’t include Zeiss optics
Nokia announced that its partnership with Zeiss will end in 2021. Zeiss agreed with the Vivo brand in 2020, but stated that its agreements with Nokia would also continue. It seems that the partnership of Zeiss and Nokia only lasted 1 year after this point. Thus, the Nokia XR20 is the company’s last Zeiss-equipped smartphone.

Not very successful under HMD Global, Nokia has withdrawn from the high-end smartphone market in recent years. It was not disclosed why Nokia ended its agreement with Zeiss, but it is estimated that the company made such a move to reduce the cost of its smartphones. The partnership of Nokia and Zeiss, which produces the most interesting camera equipment in the history of the mobile world, will now be left in the dusty pages of history.
