Nokia took Oppo to court last week for patent infringement. The Finnish company filed a lawsuit in Australia, accusing the Chinese brand of violating the SEP (Service Enablement Platform) patent, which covers 4G and 5G technologies.

It was reported that the dispute, which moved into the court corridors, could put Oppo’s activities in Australia in trouble. The accused party finally made a comment. An Oppo spokesperson made the following statements on the subject:

“So far we have not received any notification that any legal action has been taken against OPPO in Australia. We continue to operate normally in all markets except Germany, where sales and marketing of products affected by this case have been temporarily suspended.

We are proactively negotiating with Nokia and will continue to work diligently to get this matter settled fairly.”

Oppo and OnePlus devices banned in Germany

The Finnish company won two lawsuits in Germany. After the decisions made in favor of Nokia, the sales of smartphones and smart watches of Oppo and OnePlus brands in Germany were stopped. The same ban may apply to Australia.
