The iPhone 15 family, which has managed to create havoc in a very short time since its introduction, has brought many long-awaited features to the series. We have presented different contents so that you can understand the difference between these devices and between them and other devices.
In this context, we compared the iPhone 15 family among themselves and talked about their differences. Apart from this, we also touched upon whether someone with an iPhone 14 should switch to iPhone 15. However, some new features in the iPhone 15 series were left behind the scenes. Now we reveal them.
We know that the iPhone 15 comes with a Type-C cable. So, do you know what can be done with this cable other than charging?
For example, you can use your iPhone 15 almost like a Mac by displaying an image to an external display with a Type-C cable. Its powerful processor will not let you down in this regard.
You can use this cable not only for image transfer but also for fast internet connection.
With an adapter that allows you to connect from Type-C to Ethernet cable, your iPhone 15 can reach high internet speeds without interruption.
It is also possible to charge your other devices.
If you have both an iPhone with a Lightning port and an iPhone 15 with a Type-C port, you can connect these devices to each other with a cable. Regardless of the charging state, an iPhone with Type-C will charge the other one every time. It is also possible to charge accessories such as AirPods and Apple Watch.
What the action button can do is entirely up to your creativity.
Apart from features such as muting, taking photos, and switching between modes, if you go to the right while assigning features, you will see shortcuts. You can use presets here, or create your own custom actions if you don’t want to. There are those who assign actions such as unlocking a car.
Let’s get to the cameras. As we know, there is no need to switch to portrait mode to take portraits anymore. Well, then how do we know if the phone detects a portrait?
To do this, you can look at the aperture logo that appears at the bottom left when you take a photo. This sign indicates that the phone is collecting portrait data from that image.
Speaking of portraits, we should not forget that the zoom option has now been added.
Now, depending on the phone you are holding in your hand, you can switch between the two rather than sticking to one of the 1x or 2x zoom options. This will enrich portrait photos and give you flexibility.
Let’s talk about the isolated features on the connection side. Wi-Fi 6E, which we saw for the first time on iPhones, is our first stop.
First of all, Wi-Fi 6E makes it possible to connect to 6GHz networks, unlike Wi-Fi 6 as we know it. But we know that this is not very common in our country. However, this technology also provides a better reception area and more stable internet for the internet we currently use. So there is a wider range and less interference. Additionally, the feature is only available on Pro models.
Speaking of connectivity, it is impossible not to mention the Thread Network that comes with Pro models.
The Thread radio feature basically allows you to quickly control smart devices with low data traffic. This feature, which does not require an internet connection, allows you to control home appliances with low latency. The most important feature is that it has its own connection standard.
Because although Bluetooth serves this function, as we know, it is not very successful at both slow and long distances. This makes it difficult to send data from one room to another. Not that we worry about this, of course, but the thread network makes it possible to send this data quickly over long distances.
When you connect via Bluetooth, your device establishes a direct connection with the household appliance in question, while the thread establishes a network between all smart appliances and vehicles and allows you to do things faster. At least we hope this is the case with the iPhone 15 Pro models.
RAM amounts were not mentioned in the presentation.
In the previous series, that is, the iPhone 14 family, all models came with 6 GB RAM. This situation changed in the iPhone 15 family and Pro models were separated from the base models. In this context, while the iPhone 15 and Plus models have 6 GB of RAM, the Pro and Pro Max models come with 8 GB of RAM.
Finally, let’s talk about the battery.
As with the RAM side, the battery amount was not mentioned at the event. Instead we saw phrases like XX hours of video playback. But soon the battery capacities of the devices were revealed. In this context, the values are as follows:
Model | Capacity |
---|---|
iPhone 15 | 3.349mAh |
iPhone 15 Plus | 4.383mAh |
iPhone 15 Pro | 3.274mAh |
iPhone 15 Pro Max | 4.422mAh |
However, it should also be noted that the company focuses on efficiency rather than capacity. Comparing video playback times will therefore be more consistent. They are as follows:
- iPhone 15: up to 20 hours
- iPhone 15 Plus: up to 26 hours
- iPhone 15 Pro: up to 23 hours
- iPhone 15 Pro Max: up to 29 hours
Bonus: There is an innovation in the feature of limiting battery charging.
Now, instead of charging up to 80 percent and then slowing down the charging, the device can do this at certain parts of the day by monitoring your usage habits. This prevents the phone from being stuck at 80 percent when we need to pick it up after it has been charged for a long time. You can turn this feature off, limit it to 80 percent, or, as we mentioned, let it change according to your usage habits.
If you have any questions left after these or would like to add to the list, let’s meet in the comments.
