WhatsApp, the world’s most popular messaging platform, aims to provide a better experience to its users with the innovations it works on. Referring to user requests for these improvements, WhatsApp is counting down for its message editing feature.
WhatsApp message editing feature will be active soon
Earlier this month, WhatsApp rolled out the edit button with the latest beta of WhatsApp Web. Important sources said that the feature will be used in all versions soon. Now, WhatsApp has announced that the feature will come soon by sharing a post.
The WhatsApp message editing feature is currently being tested by some Beta users. Judging by the user experiences, the feature is quite useful. Beta users say that the editing feature is active until 15 minutes after the message is sent, and then the edit button is removed.
To edit the message, long press the message and then tap the three dots at the top. You will see the new edit button in the menu that appears. Everyone in the chat will see the “edited” badge next to the message so they can tell if the text has been changed.
On the other hand, it is stated that the time limit is set to make sure that people do not edit messages weeks or months ago. However, it is worth remembering that the message deletion feature was also limited to 15 minutes at first. Therefore, WhatsApp can apply a similar scenario in the message editing part.
This is not the only feature that WhatsApp has been working on recently. According to the blog post shared by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new feature where you can turn the photo in your gallery into a sticker. There is no detailed information yet, but in the screenshot above, it is seen that the feature is among the Add options with a paperclip icon.
