Live broadcasting platform Twitch banned gambling broadcasts with its decision in September 2022. However, this ban did not cover gambling within video games, but only sites containing games such as slots, roulette or dice games.

However, the situation started to change today. The platform has made a special decision for games such as CS: GO, which is one of the games that gamble most in the game world. Streamers will no longer be able to promote platforms that include gambling with game items, where rewards such as CS:GO skins can be won in their streams.

Gaming skins gambling on Twitch is also partly history!

The new ban took effect after Twitch updated its Community Guidelines. With the silent update on August 2, the following article was added to the page:

“Is sponsorship of skin gambling like CSGO skins allowed on Twitch?
No, the promotion or sponsorship of skin gambling is prohibited under our policy.”

The ban doesn’t exactly prohibit gambling for skins or real money gaming items. It prohibits broadcasts and promotion of sponsored sites only with sites that can be gambled with skins such as CS:GO.

This ban will particularly affect CS:GO streamers and those who collaborate with esports teams. Because even world giant teams like G2 Esports started to cooperate with gambling sites like CSGORoll.
