After the success of ChatGPT, companies accelerated their investments in artificial intelligence. Giant technology companies now provide artificial intelligence support on their platforms. One of these platforms is, of course, YouTube. YouTube puts its artificial intelligence system into use quite efficiently.
YouTube offers AI-powered dubbing service
YouTube is preparing to add dubbing to videos using artificial intelligence technology. The company announced Thursday at VidCon that it will begin using Aloud, an artificially assisted dubbing service from Google’s Area 120 incubator.
The system, which is expected to assist content producers in adding dubbing to their videos, starts by transcribing the video. The system then presents the draft to content producers for review, then translates the text and creates dubbing.
YouTube states that they have started testing this system with hundreds of creators and that it currently has limited language support. According to the statement, Aloud supports English, Spanish and Portuguese languages. Authorities also stated that language support will increase in the future.
The company believes that this system will develop much more in the coming years. YouTube’s plans include features that will take dubbing to a different level, such as ‘dubbing with the creator’s voice’, ‘more good expression’ and ‘lip sync’.
Although this technology offered by YouTube is only at the beginning and has limited language support, it promises a significant future. YouTube, which hosts an increasing number of content, will thus eliminate the language barrier.
In the test video published by YouTube, you can change the spoken language by clicking ‘Settings’ and then ‘audio track’. So what do you think about the new artificial intelligence supported dubbing technology offered by YouTube? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
