The end of the road is in sight for Nissan’s beloved vehicles. Making a statement about electric cars today, Nissan has decided to stop production for its popular models Altima and Versa. The Nissan Altima and Versa will no longer be produced from 2025.
Nissan turns to electric cars!
Nissan is apparently ending production of the Altima and Versa it has been producing for years. Nissan, which has made a new breakthrough due to the dominance of electric cars in the market, will be mentioned with electric cars in the future like other companies. Explaining that it gave priority to electric vehicles in the past years, the company stated that they now aim to produce more useful, fun and safe sedan cars.
According to leaks, Nissan is pulling the plug on its best-selling Altima. The Altima, which first entered the automobile market in 1992, is still one of Nissan’s best-selling vehicles, but will probably not be produced after 2025. In fact, the Versa, which has been produced since 2006, will share the same fate as Altima.
Stating that it now wants to produce electric models, the company seems to continue on its way with the Nissan Maxima on the sedan platform. In fact, the Maxima, which lags behind the Altima and Versa in total sales figures, will likely be the face of Nissan’s all-electric sedan due to its segment.
The termination decision for Altima and Versa is a leak for now. There is no official statement from Nissan for now. In fact, considering that Versa’s 2023 sales increased by 95.8 percent compared to the previous year, we can say that the decision process for Nissan will take a little longer. However, since the leaks come from strong sources, we can say that the Altima and Versa are the end of the road.
