Making a statement in March 2022, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, said that it will be possible to share NFTs on Instagram. After this speech, the company continued its work rapidly and started its tests on Instagram in May 2022. Users will be able to share by matching their digital wallets.
Zuckerberg, who made statements again after the tests started on the Instagram side, stated that it will be possible to share virtual works on Facebook this time. By July 2022, Meta activated digital art sharing in 100 countries.
In addition, while the tests are still ongoing, the company announced that it continues to work on special animations for the display of digital assets. At the same time, it will be possible to share these digital artworks through stories. In addition, users will be able to view NFT via AR.
While apps like Twitter and Reddit are working on NFT-based avatars, Meta will offer the ability to showcase these digital artifacts, and users will be able to browse NFT content just like looking at regular images or videos.
In addition to these, Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, made a statement last May, and announced that they are analyzing the data of users selling through the application and that they can establish a digital art market for the sale of items in the Meta database.
