The popular social media platform Twitter was bought by the world’s richest person, Elon Musk, today. After months of process, Musk fired three executives, including CEO Parag Agrawal, as soon as he took over the company. Although what happened between Musk and Twitter is still at the top of the agenda, it has now emerged that the platform is working on a brand new feature.

As it is known, NFTs are one of the most talked about topics of recent times. While discussions about the future of these assets continue, we are seeing NFT moves from some social media platforms. Previously, Instagram, Facebook and Reddit announced that it brought NFT features. Now it has been seen that Twitter is working on such a move.

NFTs can be shared on Twitter, and trading can be carried out with the help of contracted marketplaces.

The platform announced that the NFT feature is being tested in a post it shared yesterday from one of its official accounts. The new integration will allow users to showcase NFTs through the app. The feature, called ‘NFT Tweet Tile’, allows digital assets to be shared through the application in the form of a large image, both with the name and the name of the creator. There is also a button in the post that means ‘See it in the Marketplace’. This enables NFTs to be bought or sold by connecting users to marketplaces via a link.

According to the statements, Twitter is currently collaborating with four NFT platforms. These; Rarible, Magic Eden, Dapper Labs and Jump.trade. Twitter stated that a limited number of users within the test could see tweets containing links to these marketplaces. In addition, it was added that the new NFT integration was tested on some iOS and web users. No information has been shared about when the feature will be widely available.

The giant platform already offered NFT feature to users with its paid subscription system ‘Twitter Blue’. This feature, exclusive to Blue subscribers only, allowed users to link their crypto wallets to their accounts and then make their NFT their profile picture. In addition, these profile photos also included an icon showing that NFT belonged to that person.
