Grand Theft Auto (GTA) producer Rockstar Games has announced that it will ban NFT products on third-party servers.

Rockstar Games, the producer of GTA, one of the most loved games in the world, has made a new decision. The NFT ban on third-party server services drew attention. Especially many US-based game companies have started to make these decisions. Cryptocurrencies and NFT, which have not yet entered the regulatory process, are leading corporate companies to take a cautious approach. NFT theft, fraud or bankruptcy of cryptocurrency exchanges have come to the fore in recent days. These events adversely affected all players in the industry. The approach of gaming companies to the NFT industry is in line with the trend of the market.

Grand Theft Auto Maker Not The First Company to Ban NFT

Minecraft, one of the most popular games in the world, was one of the game companies that stepped in NFT. This decision by Rockstar Games also drew attention. The producer of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) confirmed this ban in his statements.

According to the ban, developers will no longer be able to integrate cryptocurrencies or NFT products into servers. The newly introduced rules specifically cover role-playing games. In addition, the company underlined that it supports servers despite this restriction.

It is not yet known what will happen to NFT companies using the servers. Australia-based MyMetaverse runs Grand Theft Auto V (GTA 5) servers that integrate tokens alongside car and sword-shaped NFTs.
