At the forefront of these goals is that the technology, which currently operates within a small distance, will offer four to six times greater coverage in the future. Increased charging speeds and new features
Another milestone in NFC technology will be the development of wireless charging features via NFC. The group aims to increase the current wireless power and charging capacity from 1W to 3W. Such an upgrade could enable wireless charging for smaller devices.
In addition to these improvements, the Forum says multi-purpose functional features are on the way, allowing it to perform multiple actions with a single tap. This feature can also open up opportunities for new and exciting applications. Although these innovations are exciting, it should be noted that a clear date has not been shared by the NFC Forum.
