In recent years, the unsuccessful performance and efficiency of the Exynos family has given Samsung a serious headache. The company, which wanted to take big steps in performance, attracted the attention of potential customers by equipping the Exynos 2200 chipset used in the Galaxy S22 series with an RDNA graphics unit. However, despite this, Exynos 2200 lagged behind Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Samsung completely abandoned Exynos in the Galaxy S23 series. However, according to the allegations, the company has not given up on the Exynos family and RDNA architecture.

Exynos 1430 and Exynos 1480 will have RDNA architecture

Known for its reliable sources, @Tech_Reve shared about new Exynos units on the X platform. Accordingly, Samsung will include AMD licensed mRDNA architecture graphics units in the Exynos 1430 and Exynos 1480 chipsets. However, the source stated that these graphics units will not be gaming-oriented and Samsung will focus on the image processing performance of these chips. Thus, Exynos 1430 and Exynos 1480 will seriously improve the camera performance of mid-range phones.

The Exynos 1430 and Exynos 1480, which are expected to be powered by the mRDNA architecture, will likely be introduced early next year. These chips are expected to be used in Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A15 devices. We hope that Samsung will solve its disappointment with the Galaxy Ax4 series in 2024.

Exynos 2400 will lag behind Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

Taking a break from high-end Exynos processors in 2023, Samsung will launch a new Exynos chipset next year. Exynos 2400, which is expected to be used in some Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 + models; It will include a Cortex-X4 core at 3.16GHz, 2 Cortex-A720 cores at 2.9GHz, 3 Cortex-A720 cores at 2.6GHz and 4 Cortex-A520 cores at 1.9GHz. The graphics unit of this chip, which has a total of 10 CPU cores, will be Xclipse 940. It is stated that this chipset, which will have 12 processing units based on RDNA2, will still lag behind Snapdragon.

According to @Tech_Reve report, Exynos 2400 will lag behind Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in single core performance. In terms of multi-core performance, it is stated that the two chipsets score quite similarly. On the graphics side, Exynos will lag behind 8 Gen 3, although it is RDNA-based. In addition to all these, it is also among the information that Exynos 2400 consumes more energy than 8 Gen 3. Let’s see how Samsung will solve the failure of the Exynos series.
