A new type of virus software named Rilide has been discovered that targets Chromium-based browsers and hijacks users’ cryptocurrencies.
Cybersecurity experts at Trustwave SpiderLabs have discovered a new type of malware called Rilide that targets Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave and Opera and hijacks investors’ cryptocurrencies. Rilide is reportedly designed to expose users to two-factor authentication (2FA) codes, unlike other types of software viruses SpiderLabs has encountered. It was also stated that this software virus was trading in the background without the knowledge of the crypto investor.
Attention Called for Rilide
This software virus, which targets many Chromium-based browsers, may be one of the main dangers of the crypto ecosystem. In particular, many calls for attention have begun to be made for this virus, which aims to empty the entire crypto wallet thanks to the personal information of the users.
New crypto theft-related precautionary messages have been published from many officials and companies. The increasing number of illegal events in the crypto market, which is on the rise, has also worried the investors.
