US-based technology giant Apple’s latest operating system iOS 15 had a problem that bothered many users. Users who updated their iPhones saw that the audio recordings to be used in the development of the Siri and Dictation feature began to be automatically sent to Apple. In other words, even though users had turned off sending data to Apple in iOS 14, they involuntarily sent the audio recordings. Apple announced that with the emergence of this issue, it deleted all the recordings sent except for permissions to improve Siri and Dictation.
Apple’s bug in iOS 15 has been completely fixed in iOS 15.2. The company has disabled the audio sending feature for many users. The second beta version of iOS 15.4, which was made available as of yesterday, brought a new option for voice recordings to be used in Siri and Dictation features. Users will decide whether to send the audio recordings to Apple with an option that they will see immediately after making the update.
Rejecting users’ voices will not be recorded
With the second beta of iOS 15.4, users will be able to choose whether to keep audio recordings for Siri and Dictation. The data of users who approve the option will be transferred to Apple. Voice recordings of users who do not approve will not be sent to Apple in any way.
