Volkswagen has recently come to the fore with its new electric models. Although the company has built its future plans on electric models, it has not completely abandoned internal combustion models. The German automotive giant is preparing to introduce a very special Golf R version before switching to fully electric models.
Volkswagen Golf R 333 will be introduced on May 31
Volkswagen has released a short preview video for the limited edition Golf R 333. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine of the vehicle, which will be introduced on May 31, will produce 333 horsepower, as the name suggests. The German manufacturer will produce only 333 of this model.
Last year, Volkswagen introduced the Golf R 20 Years Edition to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the R Perfomance department. This model, which can also produce 333 horsepower, transferred its power to the four-wheel drive system with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The new special model of the Golf R will also feature an overhauled DSG transmission and quad Akrapovic exhaust outlets, as in the 20th anniversary special version. The new model is also expected to offer a “Drift” mode, thanks to a torque-directed rear differential.
In the preview video, we are faced with a Golf R with yellow body color and black details. In addition to the black details on the car, the blue R logo and the brake calipers of the same color are among the prominent details.
