The rise of electric vehicles continues
According to the information shared by the Norwegian Road Traffic Information Council (OFV), 84 percent of this figure was electric vehicles in the country, where a total of 8,000 new cars were sold in January. However, while vehicles with internal combustion engines had a share of only 16 percent, the new figures increased by 53 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
In addition, popular vehicles such as Audi Q e-tron, Hyundai IONIQ 5 and BMW iX are included in the country’s new sales record, while it is reported that 19 out of 20 vehicles sold are fully electric.
About Norway, which managed to become the first country in which sales of electric vehicles surpassed fossil fuel vehicles with government aid last year, OFV stated that “the country has become a new test country for automobile manufacturers” and that they “draw a very optimistic picture” regarding their 2025 targets. .
