Samsung produces successful mobile power products. While the mobile chargers the company produces are among the best in the industry, it is expected to expand this product portfolio next year.
According to new information, Samsung has applied for paperwork for the “Samsung Superfast Portable Power” trademark, which indicates that new portable charging products for smartphones and other devices are coming soon.
The trademark application for Samsung Superfast Portable Power was filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office last week. According to the classification, the trademark term may be used for “Battery chargers for mobile devices; battery packs for mobile devices”. This application is interpreted as Samsung may not want to be limited to smartphones only.
Trademarks are often crafted to cover a wide range of possible use cases; thus allowing the company to keep its options open in terms of product compatibility. For this particular term, it’s clear that Samsung might want to use it for power banks or chargers. Perhaps the “Superfast” here indicates that Samsung is getting closer to adopting even higher charging speeds, or that it could use it on devices other than smartphones. It’s hard to predict right now. While Samsung hasn’t rushed to go beyond 45W, with some Chinese rivals opting for higher speeds, perhaps the South Korean company is finally getting close to the idea.
At this point, it would be appropriate to state that this is just speculation. There is no official statement yet on what direction the products will take. But it is certain that many Samsung fans will want to see new power products that live up to the “Super Fast Portable Power” description.
